Week 17 Message: December 5-9, 2022

Week 17 Message: Good evening. Here are this week’s reminders.

We are excited to announce that eight classrooms (PIP: Mrs. Akins and Mr. Smith, Kindergarten: Mrs. Vickery, Second Grade: Mrs. Brunson, 3rd Grade: Mr. Holsonback, 4th Grade: Mrs. Brenden, and 5th Grade: Mrs. Avra and Mrs. Richey) were rewarded this past Thursday for great attendance. We will have another surprise attendance day this week. Our goal for the year is for students to miss five or fewer days. If your child has to miss school, please be sure to send in a note telling why they were absent on the day they return or submit the note electronically using the link on our website.

Families are invited to join us for the Holiday Moosical this Thursday at 6pm in our cafeteria. Our 2nd and 3rd grade students will be performing.

This week’s December to Remember theme days are:

Monday-Tis the Season by wearing red or green

Tuesday-Oh, Christmas Tree! Wear holiday headgear or your favorite light up accessories and complete a random act of kindness.

Wednesday-Dress as your favorite Frozen character

Thursday-Mistle"Toes"-wear fuzzy or holiday socks

Friday-Santa’s Helpers Day-dress like your favorite North Pole character

Week 16: November 28-December 2, 2022

Week 16 Message:

Good evening. We hope all of our families had a wonderful Thanksgiving break. Here are this week’s reminders.

We are focusing on attendance for the month of December. We will have surprise attendance days each week and the classes with the best attendance will receive a special reward. Our goal for the year is to have students miss no more than five days.

Here are some ways you can help your student meet their attendance goals.

  • Make sure your child arrives to school no later than 7:50 am each morning.
  • If your child is absent, send in a parent or doctor’s note explaining the cause of the absence. For your convenience, there is a link on our website where you may use submit parent notes electronically.
  • Early dismissal ends at 1:30 pm each afternoon. If your child has to leave school early for an appointment, you must pick them up by this time. The person picking up the student must present photo identification.

Help up keep our students safe during morning drop off. Parents should use the car rider lanes or park and walk their student to the front sidewalk. Dropping off students in the parking lot is a safety concerns and not permitted.

Week 15: November 14-18, 2022

Week 15 Message:

Good evening.  

Our Turkey Canned Food Drive will end on Wednesday. Each canned food item will count as a vote to see which JPB staff member will be our “turkey” at Thanksgiving lunch on Friday. So far, Mrs. Cowart is in the lead. All items collected will be donated to the Statesboro Food Bank.

We hope you will be able to join us for Thanksgiving lunch this Friday. If you have multiple children you plan to eat lunch with, we ask you to arrive and plan to eat at the earliest child’s lunch time. The cost of lunch for visitors is 4.00 per person. You can pay by cash or check when you arrive. Preorders are not available. Parking is available in our bus lot or our front parking lot for this event.

There are many unclaimed items in our lost and found area. Any items not claimed by this Friday, November 18th will be donated.

School will be closed November 21-25 for Thanksgiving break. We hope all of our families have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.
